My wife and I had a great experience celebrating our anniversary at Old Bank Grille. To start, we were brought warm bread (looked to be made in-house). The owner, Jimmy, came out and greeted us personally. We ended up getting two appetizers, the bruschetta and the wings (barbeque sauce). Both were excellent. The wings were slightly crunch on the outside, smothered in a tangy bbq sauce. The bruschetta was very good as well, and was clearly made-to-order. I ordered the Chicken Venesiana, as recommended by our server, and she was correct. The dish consisted of several breaded pieces of chicken with lemon, butter, and capers served over pasta. Again, perfectly cooked, and the capers and lemon combined beautifully to make an excellent dish. My wife ordered a pasta dish with red sauce, and hers was also very good (though I think my dish was the star of the show). Finally, we ordered cappuccinos in place of dessert. The waiter said that the coffee shop next door, where they make their coffee drinks, was closed because the owner had been on vacation. So, we decided to skip the cappuccinos. But then, the owner came out again and asked us if we had time to wait, and we said sure (our movie start for another hour or so). He went over to the coffee shop (which was closed), fired up the cappuccino maker and brought us two very good cappuccinos. All in all, we had a great experience. Clearly, the owner has put his heart and soul into this restaurant, and it shows. I'm not what the source is for some of the negative reviews. I have been here several times and have only had good experiences. With such limited fine dining options in Terre Haute, Old Bank Grille is a gem that Terre Haute cannot afford to lose!

First butter was frozen you use on bread. Bread they serve wasnt bad. Food seemed over priced for what you get and wasnt better than home cooked meals. Thing that got me was owner was screaming at employees and really treated them disrespectfully. Wouldnt recommend and wont return .

My omelet was fine. Service is awful; unfriendly, no checkins. Flies everywhere--absolutely gross. Never again.

Pushing daisies, out of business. Theres a reason for that! Same owners reopened the restaurant under a new name 12 points diner, I believe, but Im not about to try it. Bad food with worse service lives on under a new name!

We ordered Gyros plates & they were excellent! The sweetbread was tasty and the Gyros were authentic. Jimmy set down with us and talked for a while and we had a fantastic meal. This is a fantastic place for lunch. I encourage you to come!

We started with the calamari. It wasn't even warm when it arrived. I still tried to eat it, but it was raw on the inside. Next we had the Caeser Salad. the greens were wilted and soggy. The dressing tasted more like Italian dressing. How can a place with a chef screw that up? it looked like they put mozzarella cheese on it instead of Parmesan. It was hard to tell because the dressing covered up any flavor. Next I had the Chicken Cannelloni. It was just above room temperature. I hadn't ate all day yet it tasted so bad that I couldn't finish 1/4 of it. I had to go home and brush my teeth to get the taste out. My wife had the shrimp scampi. It looked like they melted a whole stick of butter on it. How can a chef let this stuff leave the kitchen? to make matters worse, there were house flies and gnats all over the place. Eating in a horse stable would have had less flies. On a positive note.....the bread was good. We won't be back for that. It's a shame. We had such high hopes.

I tried. We went there for a nice sit-down dinner and the food wasn't bad. It wasn't great, though, and for a place that is attempting to be upscale, it missed the mark entirely. The clientele were in very casual clothes and the wait staff were (in general) neither friendly nor knowledgable. It seemed like nobody knew what any of the dishes were -- unable to describe them fully or accurately. I ordered the chicken scampi, but what I was brought resembled what was described as the Albanian chicken. I was also not told by the waitress that my dish would be four pieces of dark meat, which is generally something that is mentioned up-front. The rice was bloated and bland. I asked to make sure I had received the right dish and was assured by my waitress I had. She didn't respond at all to my dissatisfaction. When the chef came by I asked him what the dish was that I was eating. He told me it was the Albanian chicken. I told him I had ordered the chicken scampi. He then told me that the dish I was eating was the chicken scampi. When another party at the table asked how it could be both Albanian chicken and chicken scampi, he told us they were "the same thing". He was completely unapologetic about the confusion and my dissatisfaction. Friends, "scampi" is a shrimp (in Greek or Italian) or a style of preparation likened to how the Italian dish "scampi" is prepared -- generally in a garlic butter sauce with onion, sometimes peppers or tomato. This was chicken with lemon with a little bit of oily sauce with some small bland minced vegetables. The salad bar vegetables were way too wet. The spinach was wet with slime and decay. There were only three or four croutons left. There were a few nice salads like a pasta salad and a potato salad, though. Other members of my party had mixed results -- some liked their food, others did not. I did notice that one of the spinach leaves used to garnish one of the covers was decayed (disgusting) and was not whole. The crab in the chicken chesapeake was basically non-existent. The drinks were overpriced or unavailable or both, and there was the ever-pretentious "sharing charge" on the menu. Give me a break.

My husband an I ordered from the lunch menu. I had the American burger with chips for$6.00 and was pleasantly surprised. My burger was juicy and the toppings were fresh! Service was great!

Friendly staff, and higher quality food in a better atmosphere than is common in town. If you're looking to eat somewhere other than chain restaurants or a greasy spoon, this is one of the best places in town.

I really don't have a lot good to say about the Old Bank Grille at 12 points in Terre Haute. It was obvious that we must have been there at the wrong time but that being said, i don't think we will ever be back. The list of missteps is as long as my arm. First, we ordered the salad bar that was had not had any attention for a long time. The greens were submerged in water and the other choices on the bar were slim. Not that there were not place for other choices to be but most of the containers were nearly empty. They served fake bacon bits that don't taste good anytime. Next, I chose chicken cannelloni for my entree and my wife chose Chesapeake chicken. The chicken was over cooked to the point that I almost couldn't get my fork through it. My wife's chicken was overcooked as well and while there was suppose to be crab in the entree, other than a couple of small pieces, the crab did its best to hide under the copious amount of gloppy sauce that was on top of the over cooked chicken. My son had pork chops that tasted pretty good and were not cooked badly. We saw bread bowls given out to other patrons of the restaurant so when we asked about ours. Our waitress said that the bread would be brought out with the meal. Others in the restaurant got theirs right away. There was obviously some sort of mis-communication there. I would maybe understand more if we had been at the restaurant during off hours but we were there a little before 7:00 pm which is prime time for diners. So, between the not so great service, the nasty salad bar and the inconstancy in the food, It will be a long time before we try this restaurant again.
